In people with fragile health it becomes a form of human sacrifice, especially when claims of "super deadly" microbes are made. While illness and death are a common part of life, in my 20 years as a hospice doctor I have learned that underlying poor health is the primary reason someone has difficulty recovering from illness, not any kind of "super-bug". The healthiest way to help ill people is to offer mindful tender loving care, as advocated by Mother Teresa and Thich Nhat Hanh :-).
